Message 1 of 9. I am quickly getting annoyed that every time I modify our deployment we have to re-download the same service pack over and over. Very time wasting. I cannot find a place on our subscription center to download the service pack to our server and use the option in our deployment to use the saved file.

Come on Autodesk, pull you head out. I am sick of dowloading the file every time I have to modify the deployment. Message 6 of 9. I am no expert on deployments, having only ever installed stand-alone versions from disc, but I do not understand the issue here. As to how to incoporate that into a deployment that can then be used to update existing deployments is outside my experience and knowledge.

Message 7 of 9. Deployments save us hours on installing so it\’s the only way we setup new versions anymore. The Deployment takes some time to setup and work out the bugs so several passes are required to configure the deployment.

The Deployment package allows update files to be included in the deployment as a one step installation and update. Unfortunately some smart programmer felt we did not need the file the deployment program will and does download from the autodesk website as part of the deployment package. It will download this file but will not give us the ability to save it to the network and for some reason while it does save the file as part of the deployment, it requires us to re-download the same update each time we find something in the deployment that needs correction.

So each time we open the deployment for configuration, we re-download the file. Over and over again. The update file being downloaded must be a. So close, yet so annoying. Nothing like the pressure of trying to get a new package out to users and constantly be delayed by file downloads that you have already done multiple times.

States clearly.. Akward DOS and limited to local drive only, not network drives, but yes it works. Interesting note.

The 64 bit deployment does not require a redownload of the patch when modifying the deployment after the inital download. Looks like a bug limited to the 32 bit deployment.
